Best Practices for Designing and Buying Locker Room Lockers and Benches |

KD-Stadium-LockersLocker room lockers and benches might seem fairly
straightforward, but you’ve got a lot of choices. Maybe you aren’t designing a
space that could rival some high-end college locker rooms.Get to know what your
options are. Do you only need to replace a few lockers and add some benches? Or
are you starting from scratch and want to make the most of your budget and the
square footage? Whatever your budget, there are a few fundamentals that can help
you make the best choices for your budget.

Find the Right Locker
Construction
 Solid-Plastic-Open-Access-Metal-Lockers-and-Benches
Classic locker room lockers are steel, such as
our K.D. Stadium Lockers and out Open Access
Metal Locker
s. But don’t overlook other materials that you can choose from.
How the lockers will be used and who will use them should guide your
selections. Steel stands up to a lot of abuse. It’s easy to clean, and isn’t
susceptible to damage the way some other materials are.

In addition to steel, which is available in nearly any locker configuration
and a wide range of durable paint colors, there is also wood and heavy-duty
plastic. Solid Plastic
Open Access Lockers
are also very durable. Our Gear Locker line, which is
available in several colors, gives ample storage and comes with an exceptional
20-year warranty.

How To Purchase Heavy Duty Outdoor Recreational Furniture

How To Purchase Heavy Duty Outdoor
Recreational Furniture

Outdoor-Recreational-FurnitureGood planning practices for recreational
areas are what help you determine everything from the right number of parking
spaces to include to the best type of outdoor recreational furniture to buy. It
doesn't matter if the area you're furnishing is a giant outdoor arena or a small
neighborhood park; what matters is that you use every inch wisely, and that you
outfit it with the best and longest wearing fixtures that your budget will
allow.
ADA
and ABA Compliance

Accessibility means everyone, within reason, has
access to the recreational facilities, whether or not they have physical
limitations. The Americans with
Disabilities Act sets forth accessibility guidelines for facilities where the
public may use them.

These
standards apply to recreational parks and other areas that are open to the
public, such as sports parks and stadiums. The Architectural Barriers Act
affords similar guidelines, but they specifically apply to federally-owned sites
and those bought or leased using federal funds.

Resistance to the Elements

It seems obvious, but resistance to the elements can
make or break your outdoor
recreational furniture
selections. In the south, you'll need to think about
excessive UV rays bearing down on surfaces. Will they be too hot to use on a
summer's day? Will the sun bake them until some materials degrade and become
unattractive or unsafe? Northern areas with severe winters have freeze and thaw
conditions to contend with.

While
wood might not seem as durable as some materials, certain species are ideal for
outdoor use. ForWeather-Resistant-Outdoor-Picnic-Tables example, cedar and teak wood each have
natural insect and disease resistance and it stands up to the elements. Our
round, Cedar Wood Picnic Table retains a comfortable temperature, even when
it's excessively hot or cold outside, and it's sealed to extend its natural
lifespan. All cedar wood fixtures have the same nature.

Where the weather isn't as much of a concern, pieces
like our Y-Base Perforated Metal ADA
Picnic Tables are compliant with
accessibility standards and also built to last outdoors.

If you want something hefty, durable and visually
interesting, concrete is another option. Our Half Log Bench is constructed using
rebar reinforcements and fiber-reinforced concrete, and it has the look of a
real log split in half.
Outdoor-Bicycle-Storage-RacksSpecial Use
Considerations

Tables and
chairs aren't the only furnishings you'll likely need to outfit a recreational
area. You may also need barbecue grills, bicycle racks and pet waste stations.
And you'll certainly need waste receptacles. If the area allows smoking in some
sections, a safe way to dispose of cigarette butts is also critical. Our Waste Receptacle with Ash Bonnet Lid is one of many styles that are sturdy and
attractive.

Umbrellas give users much-needed shade. With a canopy,
several people can enjoy a break from the weather in one location. Smaller areas
are served well using umbrellas. There's the traditional fabric-covered
umbrella, but we also have a unique, folding, metal umbrella, the Aluminum Plus Aluminum Patio Umbrella, that
turns in the wind to help redirect it up and away.

Designing and buying great, heavy-duty commercial outdoor
furniture
takes a lot of up-front planning to get it right. There's plenty
to choose from, but not everything will work for your project. Your landscape,
type of business, and the geographic location are just three of many
considerations that need to factor into the design.

Let XPB
Lockers help you create an outdoor
recreation area that's code compliant, attractive, and durable enough to last
for years. For large projects, such as parks or outdoor arenas, or small ones,
such as outdoor break areas at an office, we carry the right furniture for your
style and budget

Circular Bathroom Showers with Privacy Partitions |

The issue of user privacy is also something that we can more effectively address by installing circular showers with privacy partitions.

Circular Bathroom Showers with Privacy Partitions |

Circular Bathroom Showers with Privacy Partitions

Column Showers With Privacy PanelsCircular bathroom showers with privacy partitions offer three primary benefits.  The first of these is a lower cost of installation compared to that of wall mounted shower heads.  They also offer a significant space saving advantage as well, because shower arrays are constructed on open floor space and not just along the wall.  Various configurations can be designed to accommodate a very high number of users in comfort and total privacy.  The very shape of a circular shower stall allows a user more room than most wall mounted equivalents.  It also allows for higher than average level of privacy with either a shower curtain or a shower door.

We have found, over the years, that many older buildings are challenging environments inCircular Privacy Showers which to install new showers.  If wall mounted showers are installed in an older building, it can be very expensive to install piping in the walls.  Shower heads have to be mounted every 3 feet to the pipes in the wall, and this can accrue a very uncomfortable cost for the organization.  By contrast, circular showers run on pipes installed in the floor.  In almost every scenario, installing a pipe in the floor is much less expensive than installing pipe in the wall.  Floor mounted showers can run on a single plumbed fixture that comes up through the floor and supplies the user with more than sufficient water pressure at a comfortable, desirable temperature.

Circular Column Showers With PrivacyThe issue of user privacy is also something that we can more effectively address by installing circular showers with privacy partitions.  The typical floor mounted shower array consists of four shower stalls, very similar in construction to restroom stalls, but angled toward the shower head on one end and wider at the entrance.  Pilasters are mounted on either side of the entrance so that partitions panels can be hung across the entrance and used as swinging, locking doors.  This offers users the highest possible level of privacy in a public environment.  Users often comment that taking a shower in one of our stalls is almost as comfortable as taking a shower in their own home.  Commercial Restroom Partitions carries a complete selection of baked enamel, solid plastic, stainless steel, and phenolic core partitions that can be used to construct shower arrays in a broad spectrum of colors.   Free-Quote

Lavatory Systems for School Bathrooms |

Bathroom-School-LavatoriesChoosing a bathroom  lavatory
for your school requires as much attention to cost-effectiveness as it does
functionality. And with the right fixtures, the two go hand in hand. They’re a
big investment, but they are worth every penny in the long run. Planning wisely
will help keep students healthier, maintenance costs lower, and leave
replacement an issue that you won’t have to think about for many years.School-Bathroom-Lavatories

It’s no surprise that germs and viruses can spread throughout  schools
quickly. Health specialists say cold viruses take hold when a child touches her
eyes or nose after coming in contact with the virus. And only about half of
school children actually wash their hands after visiting the restroom. Improving
convenience can help with that problem.

When washing hands is easier, children may be more inclined to make the
effort. Multi-user
wash stations
, such as the Express® Lavatory MG3, can combine ADA
compliance, touch-free operation, and water conservation in one attractive,
vandal-resistant unit. Combined with an on-demand, tankless water heater, they
save energy, too

ADA Commercial Lavatories |

Wheelchair-Accessible-Commercial-LavatoriesSpace is the essential issue confronting a wheelchair
user when attempting to wash their hands.ADA-Accessible-Lavatories A common lavatory
sink
and vanity doesn’t give space underneath the sink for a wheelchair
user’s feet and legs. The available arrangement is to clear the area beneath the
sink to give room.

The most direct solution is to install a wall hung ADA Lavatory. There are
various sinks available that are intended for wheelchair availability. These
sinks are typically shallower front to back and the drains are located at the
back of the sink, closer to the wall. This shape gives freedom to knees so a
wheelchair can get close enough to use the sink without any struggles. Visit XPB
